Civic Circle  organizes events such as debates (CITIZEN CAFÉS)
concerts (MONUMENTS EN MUSIQUE) and think tanks (RDF policy)  with various important and meaningful topics, aimed to resuscitate the motivation of the Lebanese, provide them with accurate information, make them aware of their rights and duties and therefore of their responsibility as Citizens.

Citizen Café is a Citizen meeting that invites experts in a hot topic related to Citizenship

& Eco-sustainable Development in Lebanon followed by a debate to Inform Citizens

& answer their questions, the goal being:

CEMENT INDUSTRIES MEETING  10/1/19

  How reducing fuel usage in the cement industries 
can contribute  to help solving the waste crisis in Lebanon?

(Reduction of Environmental Impact & Fuel Cost by RDF* Usage)

For the first time in Lebanon, a meeting held at Fondation Diane offices  aiming to connect people in Cement Industries with all stakeholders to progress with a strong business case proving that using  RDF   * is a good alternative solution, economically and environmentally to burning fuel and help all present convince the Government and Communities that it is the right solution.

Knowing on the other side that it will decrease the quantity of waste dumping and will help to improve the quality of the waste sorting upstream.


RDF*:  Solid  Non-Hazardous waste that is not economically or technologically recyclable which can be Co-fired as a substitute for fuels in Cement Industry or in waste to energy plants, as a preferred alternative over landfilling or mass burning.  (Dr. Fouad Jaafar)
